Any graduate holding a baccalaureate degree or an associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or from a foreign institution recognized by the International Federation of University Women is entitled to membership. At the 2005 National Convention AAUW voted to also admit persons with Associate Degrees.
There are several types of membership that are outlined on the membership page. One, established in 1991, is Student Affiliates. These are undergraduate students who are enrolled at either two-year or four-year, regionally accredited educational institutions.
Membership is NOT by invitation. If you are interested in AAUW please go to the membership page where you will find a form and costs for the various types of membership.
In both principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.
